This new review of Sysme POS 5.39 includes improvements to product and category management, new tools to simplify common configuration tasks and several important updates to Sysme Cloud.
We are also continuing to expand the services available through Cloud with the first configuration options for the new Online Menu/Catalogue.
New tools for organising products and categories
We have added a new tool that allows you to visually organise categories and products using drag and drop.
Previously, setting a custom order required changing the position of each category or product individually. With the new tool, you can reorganise the entire list directly and much more quickly.
This custom order can also be used by other Sysme features, including the new Online Menu/Catalogue.
Destination printer management
Sysme POS now includes a dedicated window for viewing and configuring destination printers for products.
This tool lets you see products and their assigned printers together and make changes from a single screen, without having to open each product individually.
This is particularly useful in hospitality installations where different products need to be sent to different printers, such as the kitchen, bar or other preparation areas.
Product management improvements
We have made several changes designed to speed up day-to-day catalogue management.
You can now open a product directly by double-clicking it in the list, while the usual edit option remains available.
We have also added new keyboard shortcuts:
- F1 – Add product.
- F2 – Edit product.
- F3 – Save.
- F4 – Go to search.
- F5 – Refresh.
- F6 – Generate labels.
- F7 – Print labels.
- F8 – Reset the label list.
- F9 – Cancel.
These shortcuts are intended to make keyboard-based product management faster, especially in businesses working with large catalogues.
Improvements to Sysme Cloud
Sysme Cloud continues to evolve in both functionality and the way business information is presented.
We have added new charts to reports and redesigned the main dashboard to provide a clearer and more visual overview of business activity.
The dashboard now makes it easier to view key sales and financial information at a glance, together with charts showing how the business is performing over time.
We have also improved text synchronisation between Sysme POS and Sysme Cloud to correctly handle characters such as ñ and accented letters.
New Online Menu / Catalogue from Sysme Cloud
We are continuing to expand Sysme Cloud with the first configuration options for the new Online Menu/Catalogue.
From Sysme Cloud, you can now configure how your business catalogue will be published:
- Menu, primarily intended for restaurants, cafés and other hospitality businesses.
- Catalogue, intended for shops and retail businesses.
- Enable or disable public access.
- Sort categories by creation date, alphabetically or using the custom order defined in Sysme POS.
- Sort products by creation date, alphabetically or using their custom order.
This means that the order configured visually using the new Sysme POS tools can be used directly to determine how categories and products are displayed in the Online Menu/Catalogue.
We have also added support for a company logo in Sysme Cloud, which can be used when displaying the Online Menu/Catalogue.
These features are part of the continued development of Sysme Cloud as a companion platform for Sysme POS.
Fixes included
In addition to the new features, this review includes several fixes:
- Invoices can no longer be marked as paid or partially paid while the cash register is closed, preventing payments from being recorded without an open cash register to correctly register the transaction.
- Added files that were missing from the recent Sysme POS Mobile improvement that allows users to display pending sales from the active room or from all rooms.
- Fixed the Z report so that payments are displayed correctly even when there are no sales for the corresponding period.
- Fixed the calculation of the available space for product names in the sales terminal. In certain cases, Sysme POS incorrectly determined that the product name would not fit on a single line and unnecessarily reduced the size of the product image.
